In addition to our customers making ΔP measurements across an orifice with our differential transducers, Tavis makes very accurate flow sensors with integral venturi tubes. In fact, the Space Station is chock full of Tavis flowmeters for environmental control and life support systems. Our Variable Reluctance technique and construction allow for very high line pressures even with low flow rates. Some of our more customized flowmeters have dual flow range capability.
Tavis Venturi flowmeters are used in applications with characteristics such as:
Tavis Venturi flowmeters are used in applications with characteristics such as:
- Custom venturi designs for specific flow requirements
- Dual gage low/high flow rates
- High line pressure
- Output signal linear with either pressure or flow
- No rotating/moving parts
- Continuous analog output; flow is not sampled or digitized
- Weld-mount, flange-mount, fitting-mount interface with system plumbing
- 4 - 20 mA and 0/1-5 VDC outputs

- 1 The designs above are intended to convey just a few capabilities previously used in critical flow systems for discussion purposes. Tavis specializes in custom configurations and capabilities for your specific application. Discuss your flow system requirements with our engineers for your specific flow control needs.
- 2 Many error band definitions and limits are possible, and these actual error bands are too specific to delineate herein. A clear definition and understanding of any error band is critical, and many manufacturers’ published errors or accuracies can be very misleading. Please consult Tavis regarding your specific error band requirements.
